The lead story in this issue is the 2002 Reunion and Annual Meeting held on August 9-11, 2002, near Fall River, Massachusetts, celebrating the Delanos in the Whaling Industry. Included as well is a complete report on the Delano Kindred Annual Business Meeting. Also in this issue:

  • A story about Billie Jo DELANO of Millers Tavern, VA (near Richmond), who was selected to participate in the Nationals? 2002 Miss Teen Richmond pageant competition that took place July 7th;
  • A follow-up story about Bertrand DELANOE, the Mayor of Paris, who was recently stabbed in the abdomen at 2:30 a.m. Sunday of 6 October in an ornate salon of Paris City Hall;
  • Restoration plans for Delano Park in Decatur, Alabama;
  • Notice from Dr. Jeremy Bangs of the intention to unveil a historic plaque at the Vrouwekerk ruin in Leiden, The Netherlands, with information about the importance of the Vrouwekerk in medieval Leiden and in its post-Reformation function as a Huguenot church;
  • News regarding the progress of the DFIP series of genealogy books by Cousin Muriel Cushing, including updating the First Edition of Generations 1-4 and preparation of the next books in the series, covering generations 5 and 6.
