At press time we have not received the final word and details concerning the 2013 Reunion which will likely be held on 19 through 21 September in San Antonio Texas. We expect to issue a "Reunion Extra" when this information is firm, probably in the later part of May. In this issue we have included articles about FDR's favorite warship, the U.S.S. HOUSTON (CA-30). Known as the "Galloping Ghost of the Asian Coast," FDR made four voyage trips on her in the 1930's. In response to several comments and queries from our members we include information about the marriage of Stephanie de Lannoy of Belgium to Guillaume of Luxembourg. We often make reference to the GHAAHD, an acronym we frequently use in our genealogical references, which may not be understood by many of our newer members. Another genealogical reference acronym we frequently reference, the DFIP, is also briefly discussed. We note the achievements and awards received by two of our members in our KUDOs article. We understand that there are a few "Kindred Spirit" coins still available, so we repeat the article that was included in the 2012 Membership Directory in case you missed it. We appreciate the information sent in by our members and we have included some of them in this issue: the WWII letter of Lt. John Delano to a Canteen Girl, The Prairie States Forestry Project, and some of the activities at the DELANO Farm near Kalamazoo, MI.
