NL #06, April 1993

In this issue we describe finding a copy of the genealogy of Mary Delano (first child of PHILIPPE DE LA NOYE and his wife, Hester) and her husband, Jonathan Dunham, which revealed that they had a son, Daniel, born in 1656. Also mentioned is a photograph of a proclamation of Friendship and Recognition given to the Alden Kindred by the Delano Kindred on August 1, 1992, which was published in the Alden Kindred's annual newsletter. A series of articles describing Delano Family Branches was continued in this issue with the John Delano branch, and corrections were made to the information about Dr. Thomas Delano's second marriage that was published in previous newsletters. A discussion of towns bearing the name of DELANO, "Than and Now", is also presented. Included too was a handy reference source for Old Naming Patterns (i.e. which child was named after whom). The Board of the Delano Kindred announced that "The Genealogy, History, and Alliances of the American House of Delano 1621 to 1899" (commonly known as the GHAAHD) has been adopted as the major genealogical source for this Society.
