NL #12, October 1994

A comprehensive report of the 1994 Annual Meeting in Plymouth, Massachusetts, kicks off this issue. Included is a an updated listing of the Officers, Directors, Committee Chairs and Appointees. The 1995 Annual Meeting will be held on August 12, 1995, in Michigan. A letter of invitation from the Religious and Military Order of the Knights of St. Catherine of Sinai to attend their annual investiture during the first weekend of November in Baltimore, Maryland, was published. According to the Order, the DELANO family has an hereditary right to knighthood in their Order due to the fact that Guilbert De Lannoy held such rights during his lifetime. An ancestor fan chart of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt is included in this issue. Following that is a great article titled "Cousins: from kissing to fourth 4 times removed." which explains the "cousins" relationships that often confuse us. Muriel's Corner digs into fan charts, and the DELANO connection to the "Little House on the Prairie" is explained. A genealogical query regarding Peter Lanmon, his son Thomas and their family was published. Beginning in this issue is a new series on Genealogical Abstracts of the Revolutionary War: Pension Files, Part I. From the Delano section of Volume I A-E of the subject abstracts as compiled by Virgil D. White, the listings are reproduced here with additions by our Genealogist, Muriel Cushing, showing the appropriate page numbers from the GHAAHD for these individuals.
