Because of the large section devoted to Dr. Bangs' research in the last issue, we are behind in some of our regular article series. Several of our DELANO Cousins have passed away and we have paid tribute to their lives-many of them rather extraordinary. You will see reference to an ancestor of Cousin Russel W. Patrick, Evaline Amelia DeLano. The "Journal of Evaline Amelia Delano 1861" which can be found in the website Document Repository, provides the story of her travels with her father from Michigan to Colorado at the beginning of the Civil War. It gives you a good sense of how one traveled west in that era. Thanks to an "alert reader," there is an article about DELANO silversmiths. Also included is information about the 2008 Reunion in Portland, ME, the exhibit of the papers of Capt.
